Here are some photos I took this week. The top one is one I took today of my kids and I snowmobiling and sledding. I wanted to capture what landscape really means, "associating people and a place". I thought I was able to represent it well in this photo. The second photo was a picture of the Connecticut River along Route 12 in Charlestown, NH. It was taken around 5:30 in the evening just as the sun was going down. I really liked how the trees framed this photo and how the light hit the mountains and the water creating a soft, serene look. The bottom two photos are of the Springfield Dam overlooking Ascutney Mountain. I thought they were really pretty. I tried to apply the rule of thirds in the third photo so as to to make is more visually pleasing. I'm not sure how I did, but I think they captured the natural beauty of the mountains.

I love the second photo. The trees framing the river are wonderful. I also really like the variety of blues within the sky and river. My eyes move from the little opening in the left corner to the taller tree in the background. Great job.
ReplyDeleteI light the colors and how you used the trees to frame the photo in the second image. There is enough to look at in the image to keep your eyes moving around the photo. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteThe sledding scene captures the fun of the moment! I'm also a fan of the setting sun scene, the soft fading colors are just wonderful...
ReplyDeleteMurph =)
Excellent job! The tree framed lake shout is quite beautiful. I think you did a great job capturing the beauty, but also drawing the eye in by framing the shot. I also really like the dam shot. When I first looked at it my eye follows the bridge line to the dam. The use of thirds was a wonderful way of shooting this image it shows that you were really thinking about what we have learned so far.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the Connecticut River shot. I love how the trees frame the photo.
ReplyDeleteThe first photo is probably the best and what would make it even better is if you could have captured the sledders sooner to give more perspective to the shot. I still think it works in that it makes the filed look even bigger or the kids smaller because they are alone in the expanse. That the one in red is slightly off center help tremendously.
ReplyDeleteThe third shot is good. It would help if you could have moved the camera slightly to the left just to catch a little of the opening of the road. This would make it even more accessible to the viewer.
